Also known as “blackfish.” Due to their diet that mainly consists of mollusks and crab this meat is very sweet and tender. They have a creamy, soft, flaky flesh that is very tasty. Taugs are in our waters year round. However, due the Virginia commercial season this fish will only be available during the fall and spring.

Tautog have stout, rounded bodies that vary in color from brown to grayish or black with irregular bars or blotches on the side. They have a blunt head, thick lips, and strong teeth.

How to Order

GET IN THE LOOP

Once we are headed in towards the dock an email will be sent to everyone who has signed up for notifications via our website. A post will also usually be made on our Instagram account, @virginiabeachseafood.

PLACE YOUR ORDER

We’ll post our catch and you pick what fish and how much you’d like. All fish is sold in 1lb increments. Easily order online with credit/debit card.

GET IT DELIVERED

Once the order and deliveries are filled, a final confirmation text will be sent out and we will deliver to your address. If you are home, we are happy to ring the door bell and hand deliver your fish.

Not home?

If you won’t be home, we ask that you please put a cooler with ice or frozen water bottles on your porch or some other obvious location in your front yard/front property where we can leave your fish.
